Doncarta – Rhythm & Love
Late last year, was when the gifted Afro music singer and indigenous rapper Doncarta released his debut
EP “Commercial Break”. Though it may have felt like we haven’t received new music from Doncarta in a
while, the rapper has evidently been cheffing up new vibes. Now, he’s back with a follow-up that would
predictably be an acclaimed breakout project that is set to be released in the early week of September,
Titled RYTHM & LOVE (the EP): Doncarta’s latest release boasts of five songs in total which are
absolutely new, never before released singles, . Production-wise, Shugavybz, Scriipo, and others
contributed to the project.
Sonically, the songs featured in RYTHM & LOVE (the EP) is packed with incredible and creative sound
production that gives the listener contemporary groovey vibes, moreso the entire project is at a
sub-30-minute runtime, thus it serves as a perfect entry point for listeners unfamiliar with Doncarta. A
melancholic head-nodder from the EP, “Kill-A-Man” stirs with animated flows atop a mellowed-out beat
that samples a choir sort of background hook with perfectly synthesized cymbals. “Mary K”, a single from
the EP has an enchanting hook in the song that could literally keep a listener hooked and whistling to the
tune all day.
Doncarta made some daring decision to keep features in this EP at zero percent. Despite the trend of
upcoming artistes buying features for their projects from already established artistes in the industry.
Hence Doncarta intends, displaying his art unfiltered before his teeming fans and audience.
When touching on the significance of the project’s title, Doncarta said that RYTHM & LOVE isn’t literal,
it’s about the mindset he was in around the time he started “developing” the project.
